Day 1 - Townsville Development Camp
Physical and Skill Assessments were the focus of the Camp on Day 1. The talented young people were put through sprint and jump testing at James Cook University and then spend 3 hours being assessed on the basic skills involved in Hockey
Skills session as part of the Camp
The assessments will be used to identify where the group as a whole and individuals stand in comparison to state and national squad assessments. This will allow the program to work with them in an effort to increase their physical and skills assessments to a level which will see them challenging for selection.
This is the first step in the process.
Friday will see the participants focus on game strategies and small games to advance game sense.
The Hockeyroos will attend the Camp on Friday and talk to the participants about the challenge of becoming a national athlete and there will be photo opportunities for the participants.
