Identified Players and Coaches heading for Cairns Development Camp
- 14 identified Players and 4 Development Coaches will arrive in Cairns as part of the Torres Strait Hockey Program from 21st May-23rd May 2009.

Gulf -v- Cape Challenge
- The best young people from the Gulf Savannah and Torres Strait/NPA communities will play a series of hockey games at the upgraded Karumba Recreation Club during the June/July school holidays.

Torres Hockey Squad Identified Goalkeeper attends Cairns Hockey Goalkeeping Clinic
- On Saturday 23rd May 2009, Ben McKeown the Torres Hockey squad Goalkeeper was invited by Cairns Hockey to attend their specialized goalkeeping clinic. Ben from Horn Island in the Torres Strait plays goalkeeper for the Horn Island Hockey Team in the Migi Kokan Hockey Competition

Torres Strait Hockey Squad member goes to the State Titles
- Congratulations to Courtney Durham who was selected in the Cairns Hockey Under 13 Girls Team to complete in the Hockey Queensland State Under 13 Championships in Warwick this week. We wish Courtney the best of luck along with her Cairns team mates The Cape Squad of which Courtney is a member will travel to Karumba to participate in the Gulf -v- Cape/Torres Challenge, a program to offer regional competition to members of remote and indigenous/islander communities.

Gulf, Cape kids stick up for chance to compete
- ANYONE looking for a game at the Karumba Recreation Golf Club today had better bring a stick of a different kind. The course at the small town, near Normanton, has been given over to young remote community hockey players with the inaugural Gulf Versus Cape Challenge series to be battled out today and tomorrow.

- The team travelling from the Torres Strait has won the first Gulf -v- Cape/Torres Hockey Challenge played at Karumba.

13 Talented Young Indigenous Hockey Players will attend Townsville Development Camp
- In partnership with Hockey Australia, the Remote Hockey program is delivering a hockey camp to support talented young indigenous hockey players in representing Queensland and Australia.

Day 1 - Townsville Development Camp
- Physical and Skill Assessments were the focus of the Camp on Day 1. The talented young people were put through sprint and jump testing at James Cook University and then spend 3 hours being assessed on the basic skills involved in Hockey

Development Camp - Day 2
- The Development Camp began with discussions on the recent test matches and ended with a conversation with the Hockeyroos. In between sessions of game strategies and self assessments focused on how these athletes viewed their time at the camp
