New Hockey Art from the Torres Strait
- Rosie Barkus, an artist working from Thursday Island has produced the first images of the Q150 Hockey Art Project. Rosie is continuing her support of the Hockey Queensland Remote Hockey Program. This project is reflecting on our past and imagining our future through a focus of images painted on hockey sticks and balls reflecting significant events within the Torres Strait over the past 150 years.

- The Hockey Queensland Remote Hockey Program will exhibit internationally recognized Hockey Art at the Champions Trophy in Melbourne as part of an exhibition that will run from 28th Nov 2009 to 3rd December 2009.

- Hockey Queensland Remote Program will exhibit new pieces of Hockey Art produced especially for the upcoming Champions Trophy Competition - Melbourne. The exhibit will begin on 28th November 2009 and will run through until 4th December 2009

INTEREST GROWING IN CREATING CHAMPIONS EXHIBIT
- The Hockey Queensland Remote Program Exhibit at Champions Trophy Melbourne has seen a steady flow of visitors over the first 2 days of Champions Trophy. Creating Champions - highlghts and promotes the indigeneous and Islander programs running through-out Queensland as well as displaying items of Hockey Art

Torres Strait Hockey Art presented to Champions Trophy Teams
- On Thursday 3rd December 2009 6 sticks painted with totems significant to the traditions and culture of the Torres Strait Island communities were presented to the teams contesting the 2009 Champions Trophy in Melbourne.
