'The Carved Kangaroo" named the winner of the 2010 Hockey Art Prize
Kel Williams from Laura in Far North Queensland a current student at Tropical North Queensland Tafe in Cairns produced an exceptional piece to be named the winner of the 2010 Hockey Art Prize
The story of the carved kangaroo is about the swift and fast movement of the animal. Just like the game of hockey that is swift, fast and darting all over the place.
The dot work on the Ball is the tracks of the movement of the kangaroo.
The streaking on the Ball and stick is the harsh earthy tones of the land
Congratulations to Kel and all the artists for participating
