Remote Hockey confirm 2 new partnerships to deliver hockey through remote and isolated communities of North Queensland in 2011
The PCYC and Cairns School of Distance Education has both spoken with the Remote Hockey Program and have come to in principle agreements to partner in 2011 to deliver hockey programs that suit the needs of the young people. The programs will combine active participation, skill development, equipment, competition with whole of life skills such as setting and attaining goals, current and future benefits received from increased attendance at school, involvement in team building and support. New programs will be developed to overcome difficulties attributable to isolation, receiving instruction through radio transmissions or IT alternatives and other extraordinary obstacles. Sounds like a challenge - but one with great rewards if successful.
