Active After School Communities Program delivers hockey in the Gulf Savannah Communities
The partnerships with Active After School Communities program, Hockey Queensland Remote program and community supporters has strengthened with the delivery in Term 3 of the modified hockey program designed to offer new and exciting opportunities for learning new skills.

July 3rd - July 5th 2009 are the confirmed dates for the Hockey Challenge in Karumba. It is anticipated up to 4 teams might be competing with 2 from the Gulf Savannah Development Squads selected at karumba Hockey Festival in 2008, 1 team travelling from Torres Strait and it is hoped a local Karumba Hockey team will particpate.

The community of Croydon Region in the Gulf Savannah will be conducting a weekend of hockey programs including coaching and umpiring courses, come and try hockey programs as well as a Community Hockey Game to encourage healthy activity and skill development. The remote hockey program will be partnering the Council and delivering the programs to support the Croydon community
Remote Hockey welcomes the NPA Hockey Program
Bamaga PCYC has begun delivering community programs as part of the Get Active Score Goals Play Hockey Program. This program supports the school progrsm that sees a team from NPA compete annually in the Migi Kokan Hockey competition on Thursday Island.
