Hockey delivery to Cairns Distance Education Students - a success

Close to 100 students enrolled at the Cairns School of Distance Education completed a series of Hook in2 Hockey Programs as part of the new hockey program designed to offer opportunities for students living on remote stations across Cape York and Gulf Savannah learn new skills.

These students have the opportunity to obtain equipment to take back to their properties and practice the new skills between camps. Remote hockey will work with Distance Education to develop hockey sessions that can be delivered through internet and radio.

The students will come together in June and be available for more training and participate in specially designed competition.

These students have also been invited to attend hockey clinics in conjunction with NHL Games in cairns where they will meet Australian and Queensland players.
