Distance Education Students get their first taste of Hockey

Remote Hockey Program Development Officers - Ena Waianga and Dalassa Savage delivered Hook in2 Hockey Programs to students enrolled with Cairns School of Distance Education. This Program has been created through a partnership with Distance Education designed to offer opportunity to these students from isolated communities

Rookey Programs were delivered to the youngest of students, introductory programs were very well received by primary aged students while the high school aged students really became involved when they were invited to play a game as part of the program.

This was the first opportunity for some to play in structured team competition and emphasized how important it is to delivery as broadly as possible to maximize opportunities foe young people.

This program will continue to develop and it is hoped that modified type of competition can be created in association with school camps later in 2011
