Partnership with Tropical North Queensland Tafe – Indigenous Studies
The Remote Hockey Program has a long relationship of working together with the Tropical North Queensland Tafe, Department of Indigenous Studies in the advancement of Sport and Recreation Programs within indigenous and Torres Strait Island communities in Far North Queensland.
The Department has partnered with the Remote Hockey Program by involving itself in the Hockey Art Program with its students participating in a project which combined the painting of indigenous cultural stories on hockey sticks and combining this artwork into a catagolue.

We continued to develop the partnership with the delivering of introductory hockey programs to Certificate 3 Sport and Recreation Students.
We are now developing and delivering Entry and Beginners Level modified hockey coaching courses in conjunction with Certificate 2 Sport and Recreation Courses to further the education and training programs and to move forward with the Hockey development Officer Course targeted at the grade 11 and 12 students in the remote communities.
