Remote Women's Program
Women and Girls Mentor Program
- The Remote Program identified from the work is has been doing in the Remote Communities the importance of mentoring a network of women and girls in these respective communities.
- The program has begun to identify and recruit women and girls of all in prominent positions within the remote/indigenous and Torres Strait Island communities to be involved in a mentor program for women in these communities
- The program aims to develop lines of communication, support networks, resources to enable the women and girls in these communities to take a greater role in sustaining the participation programmes, competitions and initiatives.
- Workshops to get women and girls in remote/indigenous and Torres Strait Island communities will be held in conjunction with another competition on the remote/regional program calendar.
- From this event, it is anticipated the women and girls can begin to export ideas and opportunities to other women in other remote/regional communities and
- Have the additional opportunity to disseminate information, plan activities and give worth and value to the women and girls within the program and broaden the women in the network and thus broaden women in hockey.
