In a joint partnership between the Commonwealth Government, Hockey Australia and Hockey Queensland Inc - Remote and Indigenous Hockey is delivering a series of broad based community support programs designed to highlight the importance of regular attendance at school.

Just prior to Qld -v- NSW game on the 21 May 2011, Senator Jan McLucas will join young people from across the Cape York Program and launch the No School No Play Hockey Program as part of the Remote and Indigenous Hockey - LEARN LEAD ACHIEVE Program

Communities of Far North West Queensland support the No School No Play Program
Regions of Far North West Queensland including Mount Isa, Boulia, Dajara, Cloncurry and Camooweal have all agreed to participate in the hockey SCHOOL THEN HOCKEY - NO WORRIES which encourages the increase of school attendnce through opportunities within the hcokey program

Senator Jan McLucas launches the NO SCHOOL NO PLAY Hockey Program
On Saturday 21 May 2011 at Cairns Hockey in front of over 3500 people, the NO SCHOOL NO PLAY Hockey Program was launched amongst a high level of community interest. Desley Boyle MLA - State member for Cairns and Cairns Regional Counsellor Margaret Cochrane also attended to support this program. Traditional owners welcomed everyone to country and young indigenous students involved in the program gave an exhibition of their new hockey skills.

Far North West Region of Queensland getting ready for the 2011 NO SCHOOL NO PLAY Hockey Challenge
On the 16th June 2011, over 80 young people will travel to Mount Isa from some of the more isolated communities in Queensland to complete for the No School No Play Hockey Challenge
