Creating Champions - Promoting Remote Hockey in Queensland at Champions Trophy in Melbourne
The Hockey Queensland Remote Hockey Program will be promoting the successful delivery of hockey into remote and indigenous communities of Queensland with a display at Champions Trophy in Melbourne.
Creating Champions - the image especially designed by kevin Edmonstone of the Idindji people of Cairns and surrounding areas.
The exhibit will include images of hockey programs from some of the more remote indigenous and Torres Strait Islander communities in Queensland.
The exhibit will also have on display original pieces of the hockey art and it will be highlighting the design "Creataing Champions" which the Kookaburra's will be wearing on their warm up shirts on Thursday 3rd December 2009.
The exhibit is located in the Hockey Australia Game Development Area and will be open on
Saturday - 28th November 2009
Sunday - 29th November 2009
Tuesday - 1st December 2009
Thursday - 3rd December 2009.
This exhibit will have items of hockey art, T shirts with the creating champions design, postcards and calendars.
The exhibt will be hosted by members of the Hockey Queensland Remote and Indigenous Hockey Development Program including Julie McNeil Program Manager, Chrissy Lucs Benn - Indigenous Development Officer ( trainee) as well as Cairns Hockey Regional Coaching Director and Remote Hockey Program Coaching Manager - David McNeil as well as Hockey Australia NITDP squad members and manager - Joe Kelly.
