Cairns Hockey Clubs support Torres Strait Hockey Competition

Here is an exerpt from the Letter of Appreciation sent from Horn Island Campus to Trinity Bay Stingers Hockey Club

Dear Trinity Stingers Hockey Club,

On behalf of the Horn Island Hockey teams we would like to thank you for the donation of hockey uniforms which will be used for our upcoming hockey season. When we have a photo of us wearing the jerseys we will send it to you A.S.A.P. We have been playing since October last year and have already achieved so much in a little period of time. We have established 3 teams this year. Eight of last years Horn Island players represented the Torres Strait Hockey Representative Team. The rep team have been doing hockey drills with the new players at Horn Island School, teaching them basic hockey skills we learnt in Cairns with Mr. Dave McNeil.  Thanks to all who have helped us, hockey has already become one of the most popular sports in the Torres Strait.  As we live in a remote area, we are limited access to sports shops and your donation has helped us a lot, we appreciate it very much.
