Hockey as a community partner in the Torres Strait - a highlight of the Qld 150 Birthday celebrations
Recognizing the past and Imagining the Future is the theme underpinning hockey's partnership with Tagai Tafe in a Hockey Art project made possible with a grant from the Queensland Government - Q150 celebrations

The Hockey Queensland Remote Hockey Program and Tagai Tafe in the Torres Strait will produce a booklet and a series of hockey sticks all painted by Tafe Students and Islander artists representing significant Islander cultural stories from the past 150 years.
Alex Woodcock from Tagai Tafe is involving young people from all over the Torres Strait in this project through the Tafe Art Workshops.
The finished project will be photographed along with the accompany story and a CD and booklet will be produced to promote and celebrate the heritage of the Torres Strait and it's involved in the Remote Hockey program.
Copies of the booklet including the artwork will be distributed to all Queensland Hockey Associations and will also be available for public display at the State Hockey Centre.
