Infrastructure Program

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED - Category 1 (Minor) What is the Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Program about? The Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Program provides contributions towards the development or construction of infrastructure for participation in structured and unstructured sport or recreation.

Important dates
1 March 2010 - Funding round for Category 1 (Minor) opens
16 April 2010 - Funding round for Category 1 (Minor) closes

How much funding is available for projects?
Funding is available across three categories and is dependent upon the total eligible costs for the project. 

In the 2010 round,  funding is only available under Category 1 (Minor).  In future rounds, applications will be accepted for all categories.

Who can apply?
Organisations eligible to apply include:

 

  • a not-for-profit sport or recreation organisation
  • councils
  • a not-for-profit Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander organisation
  • an incorporated university sports club
  • a Queensland State school
  • an independent school
  • a not-for-profit incorporated organisation

Priorities of the Program
The following projects are a high priority under this round:

  • new spaces and places for sport and/or recreation participation
  • lighting of sport and recreation locations
  • outdoor recreation trails and camping facilities
