Gulf Savannah
Our relationship and affiliation with the Gulf Sport and Recreation Association Inc is a solid one. The number of communities playing hockey are increasing through respective affiliation. - This translates into ever increasing numbers of young people being involved in the game.
- The Gulf Communities play a local modified competition in partnership with the Active After Schools and vacation care programs during the year
- Modified type coach education and training also takes place during this time.
- Squad Camps for talented identified players takes place each year.
- September/October sees Hockey as part of the Karumba Festival of Sport when a record number of teams and participants will be attending.
- Talent Identification for boys and Girls continue will take place
- Leadership workshops take place as well as updated coach education.
- Hockey Art plays a role in this program.
- The Program has a relationship with the national Indigenous Talent Identification Program and we work with Townsville and Cairns Hockey Associations to provthways in an opportunity to continue hockey development
